Designer, Product Developer & Brand Builder with a deep understanding of Watchmaking
I design more than just watches. I shape products, brands, and experiences. With a background in graphic design and photography, I now work at the intersection of industrial design, product development, and brand communication, specializing in contemporary timepieces.
At Sternglas, I oversee the full lifecycle of our watch collections: from initial concept and design to technical development, supplier coordination, launch, and post-launch optimization. My role bridges multiple disciplines including UX/UI, visual storytelling, packaging, content production, and cross-functional collaboration across marketing, service, and retail.
My passion for horology is both professional and academic. I studied Communication Design at the University of Applied Sciences in Trier, where I specialized in graphic design, editorial, and photography. It was during this time in 2018 that I discovered my fascination for watches. A passion that soon found its way into my creative work. My bachelor thesis explored the technology, craftsmanship, history, and design of timekeeping instruments in depth, laying the foundation for my current path.
After graduating, I briefly pursued a watchmaking apprenticeship in Pforzheim to deepen my technical understanding of the mechanics behind the objects I was designing. Although I ultimately chose to stay on the design and development side, the experience gave me valuable insights into the craft and complexity of horology.
My master’s thesis focused on collecting, more precisely, the cultural and emotional value of collections, particularly in relation to timepieces. It examined the historical significance, personal meaning, and symbolic power embedded in the act of collecting, and how watches serve as both functional tools and emotional artefacts.
I believe great watches are more than instruments. They are designed experiences. My mission is to create timepieces that resonate emotionally, communicate visually, and perform functionally.
