Watch product management & design execution: How I led the Lumatik from community-driven specs to a 6-month time-to-market. Specialized in technical blueprints, two-tone Luminova, and global supply chain coordination.

Lumatik

Strategic Positioning & Architecture

The Lumatik was engineered as a strategic evolution of the existing portfolio, designed to meet specific community demands for enhanced technical performance and legibility. As the Product Lead, I leveraged our proven Naos case architecture to ensure a lean development process. By personally validating the technical blueprints and cross-referencing movement specifications, I confirmed that the upgraded Miyota 8315 caliber could be integrated without new tooling. This strategic decision significantly reduced time-to-market while maintaining the brand's signature aesthetic.

Technical Design & Dial Engineering

I personally executed the technical vectorization and dial layouts to ensure 100% fidelity from initial concept to series production. The design features a printed 3-D architecture with oversized numerals and a unique "shadow-detail" effect to optimize visual depth. To achieve superior nighttime visibility, I implemented a two-tone Super-LumiNova® application, a technical first for the brand that required rigorous calibration of luminous intensity and color balance.

Movement Curation & Industrialization

The transition from the standard 8215 to the Miyota 8315 automatic caliber was a deliberate choice to increase the product’s perceived value and technical reliability. I oversaw the integration of this movement, which offers an extended 60-hour power reserve and superior aesthetic finishing, including blued screws and a skeletonized rotor. My role involved coordinating the technical interface between the movement’s dimensions and the existing case tolerances to ensure a seamless fit.

Accessory Development & Sustainable Sourcing

In response to direct community feedback requesting greater strap variety and a distinctive aesthetic, I spearheaded the development of a dedicated strap for the Lumatik. I coordinated the entire process with our manufacturing partners. From the initial design phase to the selection of sustainable materials. We implemented a high-performance recycled Seaqual® nylon upper to give the timepiece a unique, contemporary look while maintaining durability.

Lifecycle Results & Recognition

Through this agile and platform-based approach, the Lumatik was brought to market in just six months. It was recognized with the German Design Award 2025. This project demonstrates my ability to lead the entire product lifecycle. From blueprint analysis and technical drawing to strategic portfolio expansion.
